Through our work on Hitched, we gained a lot of appreciation for the wedding planning industry. Wedding planning and coordination is challenging and complex work and involves a great deal of coordination with a variety of stakeholders. The relationships we built with wedding planners and coordinators during the design process allowed us to appreciate and understand a profession done of us were previously familiar with. Additionally, wedding planners and coordinators were very open to working with us and gave us insightful feedback on our ideas. This project taught us the importance of engaging with our user, and understanding their motivations. We had many versions of Hitched, from paper prototypes to wireframes to high-fidelity mockups, and we continually asked for user input and critique. Working with such a vibrant user group greatly influenced our project, and pushed us to become better, more passionate, human-centered designers.
